Matthew McKean
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Matt serves as CEO of Frontier Applied Sciences and Frontieras North America.
Matt’s entrepreneurial background, having co-founded and successfully exited several private companies, provides a unique perspective in evaluating market dynamics to discover opportunity. Matt has been an active member of the CEO mentoring membership organization Vistage where he consulted and strategized in various industries including construction, heavy-equipment leasing, finance, green product development, advertising and public relations, highway construction, private education, and consumer goods.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition with emphasis in Chemistry from Arizona State University.
Joseph Witherspoon, P.E.
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Joe serves as CTO and co-founder of Frontier Applied Sciences and Frontieras North America.
Joe is recognized as the inventor of Frontieras’ FASForm™ process and has authored the patents for FAS technology. Joe brings to the CTO post a strong conceptual and practical understanding of petroleum refining processes, natural gas processing (including cryogenics), and other major chemical processes.
Prior to Frontieras, Joe held engineering positions with Chevron, Enterprise Products and Sinclair Oil and Marathon Petroleum. As a Process Design Engineer and Major Capital Project Manager, Joe’s successful project resume has yielded millions of dollars in new profitability for the companies he worked for and projects that he controlled.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical & Fuels Engineering from the University of Utah and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Andrea Moran
Chief Commercial Officer
Andrea serves as CCO of Frontieras North America. In this post, Andrea assumes responsibility for developing and implementing Frontieras’ commercialization strategies, mediating critical deals within the commodities sector, and executing the organization’s go-to-market strategy for Frontieras
Prior to Frontieras, Moran served as Co-Founder and Vice President of Business Development for Yield Power Group, a project finance firm in energy and infrastructure, funding projects of $100M to $1B+.
Andrea holds a B.S. in Political Science from University of Wisconsin and serves on philanthropic boards, Advisory Boards and Board of Directors of emerging companies. Andrea serves as a mentor to incubators, universities, and individuals.
José López
Chief Financial Officer
Jose serves as CFO of Frontieras North America, overseeing the company’s financial strategy, operations, and capital planning.
Jose brings over 20 years of leadership experience in global finance and accounting across high-growth and complex organizations. Prior to joining Frontieras, Jose held senior finance roles at multinational public companies and began his career in PwC’s external assurance practice in Houston, London, and The Hague. His expertise spans SEC reporting, corporate governance, FP&A, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions - including IPOs and debt/equity offerings.
Jose holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Houston - Clear Lake and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Doug Remy
Vice President of Corporate Affairs
Doug Remy serves as Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Frontieras North America.
Prior to joining Frontieras, Doug spent the majority of his 30+ year career in the real estate investment business and he has served as CEO and CFO of a number of operating companies.
Doug graduated with a B.A in Accounting from Luther College and spent the first several years of his career as a CPA with one of the Big Eight public accounting firms. After receiving an MBA from Harvard Business School, Doug worked for Trammell Crow Company before starting the first of several companies he went on to own and direct the affairs.
